Year: July 20, 1999
The Highland Band was formed around 1999 in Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky and only stayed together for a period of about 6 months. The band was originally called the IMTA band (International marijuana tokers association) as an inside joke, but after careful reconsideration changed the name to The Highland Band (the street our grandmother used to live on in Kentucky). This band only played one live gig at a bar in Northern Kentucky. After disbanding, Jonathan Sheffield and Joe Fussinger continued recording original songs and released a CD called The End of the Line under the Highland Band name and then joined other band members to form the Mystic Creek band.
Joy Fussinger: Guitar, Lead/Backup Vocals
Jonathan Sheffield: Bass Guitar, Lead/backup Vocals
Joe Fussinger: Drums/Backup Vocals.
There is only one recording that has all three members of the Highland Band on it is -That’s my girl featuring Joy Fussinger on backup vocals and tamborine. The remaining original songs feature Jon Sheffield and Joe Fussinger.
